On delhi on Friday ,Russian defence minister Sergei Shoigu and Pakistani defence ministers attended the conclave of the defence ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO)
India’s defence minister Rajnath Singh honoured SCO defence ministers in April, and Pakistan’s Khawaja Asif attended the meeting in virtual mode.
China’s Defence Minister Li Shangfu, Shangfu, Tajikistan’s Colonal General Sherali Mirzo, Tron’s Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Gharaei Ashtiyani, and Kazakhstan’s Colonel General Rusalan Zhaksylykov attended the meeting in person. They arrived on Tuesday in Delhi (the national capital).
The meeting was conducted to mainly focus on the regional security situation related to the developments in Afghanistan. The conclusion is that the seven coordinate with the combat against terrorism and extremism.
SCO was established in 2001 and is an intergovernmental organisation. Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and India are the member of SCO . Belarus and Iran, will also participate in the SCO as observer countries.
India and Pakistan got permanent membership in 2017.
