Protest over the PM’s arrest by the army

In a 34-second video on May 9 on the side of the eastern city of Lahore in Pakistan, they showed that the gathering of people, including women, had increased. They carry flags of former PM Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (P T I) party and chant slogans with sticks.

The people who shot the video inform us that a crowd broke the gate and entered through the crop commander’s residence in the presence of a senior military officer. The video, which went viral on social media, was shot shortly after Khan was arrested by the NAB (National Accountability Bureau) at the capital city court in Islamabad on corruption charges. The sudden arrest shocked the nation, and PM supporters want an immediate release.

Supporters target the dozens of similar buildings set up by Pakistan’s powerful military. A video that was shot in the town of Rawalpindi, where the Army General Headquarters is located. Showed women protesting at the entrance gate, rattling the main gate to open.

In another video, hundreds of people carrying P T I flags and wearing party symbols try to climb and hit. After some time, they enter the compound with sounds like ‘God is great’ and demand the release of PM Khan.

On Thursday, the Pakistani Supreme Court ordered his release immediately and agreed that Khan was illegally arrested. During the government rule of Imran Khan, tensions arise between Khan and the army over foreign policy matters.
