BJP National President JP Nadda has made some reflections censuring the governments of non-BJP ruled states regarding the issue of Other Backward Class (OBC) reservation in a press conference at Bilaspur in Himachal Pradesh
Nadda indicated the governments in Bihar, West Bengal, Rajasthan, and Punjab are openly violating the indigenous rights of OBCs. He claimed that these governments, despite claiming to support the backward classes and their rights, aren’t actually doing so. Nadda specifically mentioned Bihar, stating that although the state started an estate tale, the OBC communities were deprived of their rights.
Nadda further indicted West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for favouring Muslims, claiming that a significant maturity of those serving from reservations in the state are Muslims, while other backward classes are being deprived of those benefits.
He contended that an aggregate of 179 gentries have been included in the OBC list in West Bengal, out of which 118 gentries belong to the Muslim community and attempts are being made to give OBC certificates to informers and Rohingyas from Bangladesh. Nadda also mentioned the shy perpetration of OBC reservations in Punjab, where only 12 percent of the OBC communities are serving from the 25 percent share, and in Rajasthan, where seven sections designated as ethical sections have no reservation for OBCs.
These reflections of JP Nadda came many days after NCBC President Hansraj Gangaram Ahir indicted the politics of conciliation in granting OBC status to communities in West Bengal. On June 8, Ahir had said that out of 179 OBC gentries in West Bengal, 118 are from the Muslim community. There’s conciliation politics behind giving OBC status to so numerous Muslim gentries. He also said that OBC reservation isn’t being enforced duly in Rajasthan, Punjab and Bihar.
