Everything you need to know about the Vibrant Gujrat Global Summit: Day 1

According to PM Modi, the world sees India as a vital pillar of stability and a driving force in the global economy.

The dynamic Gujarat Global Summit, established in 2003 under the inspirational guidance of then-CM Narendra Modi, has evolved to become one of the most distinguished worldwide forums. On January 9, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show 2024 in Gandhinagar’s Mahatma Mandir, in the courteous attendance of Mozambique’s President, Filipe Nyusi. The summit, held from January 10 to 12, has the theme ‘Gateway to the Future’ and marks the event’s tenth anniversary.

The Summit’s current edition includes 34 partner nations and 16 affiliate organizations from across the world. This wide multinational partnership emphasizes the Summit’s status as a crucial venue for establishing global economic and geopolitical ties.

Along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a distinguished group of international leaders, including Presidents, Prime Ministers, and CEOs of multinational corporations from several nations, attended the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024.

PM Modi met with foreign leaders and spoke with CEOs of major global companies like Suzuki Motor Corp’s Toshihiro Suzuki, AP Moller’s Keith Svendsen, Micron Technology’s Sanjay Mehrotra, and others. At 3 p.m. on January 10, he kicked off the Vibrant Gujarat Global Business Show, emphasizing the significance of international trade and business opportunities.

The Summit featured workshops and meetings on global topics such as Industry 4.0, Innovation and Technology, Green Production, Green Hydrogen, Electric Transportation and Energy Efficiency, and the Journey to Sustainability.

At the Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show, companies showcased items made using world-class, cutting-edge technology. The Trade Show’s key industries include electronic mobility, start-ups, MSMEs, the blue economy, renewable energy sources, and intelligent infrastructure.

Speaking during the opening on January 10, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the world views India as an essential foundation of equilibrium, a friend who is respected, an engine of growth in the global economy, a technological hub for solving problems, and a powerhouse of brilliant young.

Day one saw massive investments from Reliance Industries, Adani Group, and Maruti Suzuki, among others. Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani spoke on stage at the Gujarat summit regarding the future of the state’s businesses. They also announced billions of dollars in investments in Gujarat over the next several years.

Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024: Top 5 Announcements

  1. Gautam Adani, India’s wealthiest man, said that his firm, Adani Groups, will invest $24 billion in Gujarat over the next 5 years. He stated that the initiative will generate one lakh employment in Gujarat. Furthermore, Gautam Adani stated that his company will invest approximately one hundred billion dollars in the country’s transition to renewable energy over the next ten years.
  2. Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani said today that his company will establish India’s first world-class carbon fiber factory in Hazira, Gujarat. Ambani added that Reliance will build a green energy mega-complex on 5,000 acres in Jamnagar by 2024.
  3. Mukesh Ambani approved India’s application for the 2036 Olympics and stated that Reliance will support the authorities with development initiatives related to the event.
  4. Suzuki Motor Corporation President Toshihiro Suzuki stated during the summit that the business will invest ₹35,000 crore in establishing its second manufacturing site in Gujarat. The corporation plans to increase its yearly production capacity to more than 40 lakh units by 2030-31.
  5. During his speech at the conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated that all of the major organizations predict that India will be among the world’s top three economies in the coming years. He also stated that India has signed key memorandums of understanding with the UAE, with billions of dollars planned for investments in Gujarat and other states.
