“Apologise to the nation,” demands Goyal

Union Minister Piyush Goyal in the Parliament on Wednesday demanded that Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi apologize to the nation for his inappropriate comments in a speech in London.

Former president of the Congress Party, Rahul Gandhi received a lot of flak for his statement that ‘India’s democracy is under attack under PM Modi’s leadership’ in a speech he gave in London. The BJP was infuriated with RaGa’s words and remarked that he was derogating and disrespecting India.

In the Parliament on Tuesday, Goyal spoke about how Gandhi’s statement was ‘irresponsible’. He added that the allegations against the Prime Minister were baseless. “The Congress Party always just stall the proceedings of the Parliament with their evidence-less claims and accusation.” He added.

Cong Prez M. Kharge in reply demanded answers regarding the Adani case and said that the government must opt for a Joint Parliamentary Committee to investigate this.

“It’s high time that the country hears, what are the Congress Party’s intentions behind making such comments. What is in their mind? Do they respect Parliament? Do they respect constitutional authorities? Do they respect the media and the journalists? The judiciary?” asked Goyal.

Goyal also accused Congress leader Jairam Ramesh of making ‘baseless’ accusations against the chair. “Congress’s Jairam Ramesh had made baseless accusations against the chair. The leader of the opposition refused to meet the chairman. We condemn this. This is a very unfortunate situation in the parliament,” Goyal said. “The entire house will remain agitated because no sort of apology has come from the Congress leader.” He added.

Piyush Goyal seemed on a roll, challenging the Opposition and replying to all of their claims and accusations with equal ferocity. With the BJP closing in on Rahul Gandhi, will the Wayanad MP finally bow his head or will be fight back?
