Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, announced on Saturday that he will take former MP Rahul Gandhi to court over his recent “Adani” tweet that connected Congress defectors, including Sarma, with the Adani Company.
They mislead every day because they conceal the truth! Who has 20,000 crore in benami money in Adani’s companies? is still the question, the Congress leader had tweeted. Additionally, he stated that Sarma had financial stakes in the Gautam Adani-led enterprise, along with Ghulam Nabi Azad, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Kiran Reddy, and Anil Antony.
The Assam CM responded, saying, “It was our decency to have never inquired as to where you had hidden the proceeds of crime from the National Herald and Bofors Scams. And how you repeatedly allowed Ottavio Quattrocchi to evade the reach of Indian justice. We’ll meet in the legal courtroom nonetheless.
The tweet from Rahul Gandhi is offensive. We’ll reply to the tweet once Prime Minister Narendra Modi gets back from Assam. There will undoubtedly be a slander lawsuit in Guwahati, according to Mr. Sarma.
Mr. Sarma added that he was eager to “demystify” his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal’s assertion that he had given 12 lakh young people work.
“I am still awaiting Kejriwal’s invitation. In Guwahati, he spoke to journalists about how he wanted to “demystify how 12 lakh employments are achievable when (the number of) sanctioned workers in the Delhi government is only 1.5 lakh.
“On April 2, Mr. Kejriwal said at an Aam Aadmi Party event in Guwahati that the Delhi government had given 12 lakh young people jobs during the previous 7-8 years. Also, he extended an invitation to Mr. Sarma to visit Delhi and enjoy a cup of tea at his home.
