Chhattisgarh CM accuses BJP of disqualifying Rahul Gandhi for Adani probe

Chhattisgarh’s chief minister Bhupesh Baghel stated that Rahul Gandhi was disqualified from being an MP because he wanted an investigation into the Adani issue. At a news conference on Tuesday, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh stated that the Congress would enlighten the public about the Centre’s silence on the Adani issue and Rahul Gandhi’s removal from the Lok Sabha.

Noting that many Parsis and Muslims also use the name as a surname, the chief minister of Chhattisgarh asserted that the use of the surname “Modi” did not signify favoritism towards a certain caste.

Gandhi was disqualified from serving in the Lok Sabha on March 24, 2019, a day after he was sentenced to two years in prison by a Surat court for criminal defamation.
Baghel enquired about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s relationship with Gautam Adani.
Baghel speculated that the investments and losses of the State Bank of India (SBI) and the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) in Adani’s businesses are being investigated.
And asked why the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) were not investigating the situation and if Adani would ever be approached to answer questions.

The chief minister also asserted that Lalit Modi and Nirav Modi are not from disadvantaged families, questioned why the government does not require a caste census if it genuinely cares about the disadvantaged, and questioned why there are no municipal elections in Uttar Pradesh.

Baghel claimed that the prime minister began discussing the lower classes since he was unable to handle the Adani scandal. He stated that every effort is being made to divert attention from the Adani issue.

Baghel also attacked Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, by alleging that Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, belongs to a lower social class. Upon leaving, Adityanth doused the chief minister’s home with “Ganga Jal.”
