Home Minister Amit Shah Addresses Gohana Rally, through mobile

On Sunday, Minister of Home Affairs Amit Shah was supposed to speak at a rally in Gohana, Sonipat. However due to bad weather, Shah’s chopper could not get permission to fly, and the visit had to be cancelled altogether. It would have taken two hours for him to come by car, explained CM Manohar Lal Khattar at the rally.

The CM was able to get Amit Shah on the phone from where he addressed the rally and said “All of us together will work to make Narendra Modi ji as Prime Minister again. We will make the lotus bloom in Haryana.”

Shah took jabs at the previous administration and said that the area had progressed a lot in terms of law and order, which had not been done in the 70 years of India’s freedom. “You have witnessed so much development in Haryana during the past eight years. The corruption has reduced in every sector, law and order has improved and castism has ended. In eight years so much development has taken place in Haryana that could not have happened in 70 years. Now educated sarpanches are taking Haryana forward.”

The rally was organised amidst a lot of unrest and opposition amongst the Haryana Pradesh Sarpanch Association which is holding protests and blocking roads all over Haryana. AAP’s former minister in Haryana Navin Jaihind too had offered a reward of Rs 1 lakh for anyone from the opposition who openly opposed Shah’s Gohana Rally.

To ensure safety, many of the State’s best police personnel were present at the rally. Haryana police had also been cracking down on any disruptive elements who could potentially create unrest at the rally. The farmers have mostly been protesting the unfair compensation given by the Govt. in exchange for their land which will be used to construct the kmp highway.
