With a lot of rumors and theories floating around, Andhra CM Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy rebuffed all news of Cabinet reshuffle and Early polls.
Speaking to his legislators and YSR Congress Party workers, Reddy asked for hitting back through the social media on the rumours spread by the media and opposition. There was the danger of more such rumors circulating in the coming days, he warned and asked the party members to believe in him and rebuff them all.
While asseritng that the elections would be held as per schedule, he urged the party leaders not to believe the false propaganda that 60 sitting MLAs would be denied tickets to contest the elections this time.
.
Some sections of the media reported that Reddy is under pressure fromt the BJP to prepone the elections so that he could win the polls and help them during the Parliamentary elections. The opposition, especially the Telugu Desam Party has also been anticipating the advancement of elections. They have stated that Jagan might dissolve the current government and go for early elections because of the bad financial condition of the state and a blotch on Reddy’s reputation.
TDP state president K Atchannaidu also alleged that there is dissent within the YSRCP and about 75 MLAs unhappy under the leadership of Jagan.
The TDP, which had their strategy meeting in February in anticipation of early elections, believe that they can win 160 seats in the Assembly elections and form the government.
The last Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh were held in April 2019. If things go as Reddy said, the next state elections in Andhra will take place in April 2024.
