As per a private airline, the Nashik-Delhi flight has reduced its frequency from daily to thrice a week with immediate effect due to technical reasons. The flight will now operate on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The airline started its operations in the Nashik-Delhi sector with daily flights in August last year. Moreover, the airline will be operating the flights thrice a week starting April 20.
Earlier on, another private airline started its operations from the Nashik airport, connecting Nashik to Goa, Nagpur and Ahmedabad. As per the airline sources also admitted that the business is good on this route and the occupancy is over 95%.
“Business and trade fraternity people as well as tourists fly to and from Delhi frequently. The passenger load in this sector has been good. Therefore, we want the airline to continue its operations in the Nashik-Delhi sector with a daily service. Otherwise, it will send out a wrong message among the passengers,” said Manish Rawal, Chairman, Aviation Committee of the Nashik Industries and Manufacturers’ Association (NIMA).
However, Nikhil Panchal, President, Ambad Industries and Manufacturers’ Association, “We want air connectivity with all the metro cities including Hyderabad and Bengaluru. The large IT industries will come to Nashik only if the city has air connectivity with Bengaluru and other IT cities. Moreover, Nashik-Delhi flight should continue with daily frequency.”
