Saudi Arabia and Iran made a pact to resume ties. The new deal between Saudi Arabia and Iran has become popular very quickly. This was said by the Iranian Ambassador, Iraj Elahi on Friday, 17 March 2023. A little while ago, both Iran and Saudi Arabia had announced the proper and full-fledged restoration for their diplomatic relations.
On this matter, a representative of the diplomatic mission said, “I think it should not be a concern for India. It would be of benefit to India since it would help and intensify the stability and peace in the Persian Gulf region.” He also added, “So it would be of benefit to India despite what has been done at the mediation of China.”

However, even after this assuring statement from one of the representatives, the sudden and unexpected news of the deal has definitely taken aback the diplomatic circles in New Delhi. To reassure India, Elahi also mentioned that India will benefit from the stability and peace in the Gulf region. He further added that this would help India improve its trade relations with various other countries in that region. Meanwhile, Arindam Bagchi, the spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs welcomed the pact by saying that it will be beneficial for everyone. He also added, “We have seen the reports in this regard. India has good relations with various countries in West Asia. We have deep abiding interests in that region.”
He also said that “India has always advocated dialogue and diplomacy as a way to resolve differences.” Bagchi also mentioned that this pact will greatly benefit India and it will help the country in many ways.
