L&T rose 1.70% by touching the highest record of Rs 2,347 on BSE. Domestic equities inched higher on Friday due to profits at Wipro and Lursen & Torbro. BSE Sensex soared 180.75 points, or 0.30%, to 60,830.13. NSE nifty climbed 54.40 points, or 0.3%, to trade at 17.964.45.
Wipro jumped up to nearly 3% while the company posted an 11% increase in its quarterly revenue. Index was up 1.23%.
L&T raises over 1.70% Axis Bank fell over 2.50%; it is the biggest laggard after the private lender reported that we suffered a loss of Rs 5,361 in the March quarter on the Citi acquisition payout.
Bajaj Fiserv was still down 1.40%, Hindustan Unilever plunged 1.42%, PSU 13 and the index were down 1.45%, but the Nifty Media Index climbed 1.44%.
At the time of opening, Wipro, Sun Pharma, UPL, Adani Enterprises, Apollo Hospital, Hindalco, Infosys, Bharti Airtel, L&T, and SBI were among the top gainers.
On the other side, some companies suffered losses like Asian Paints, Hindustan Unilever, Axis Bank, ONGC, Power Grid, and HCL Tech.
