Siddaramaiah, a senior leader of the Indian National Congress, sent out a tweet on Sunday, questioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was in the state of Karnataka on Sunday if the objective of Modi’s visit was “to plunder the state.” Modi was in Karnataka on Sunday.
In a series of tweets, the former Chief Minister asked the Prime Minister what his role had been in this matter, alleging that the State’s milk production had been significantly affected since the day that the Union Cooperative Minister Amit Shah spoke about the possibility of merging the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) with Amul. Shah had spoken about the possibility of merging the KMF with Amul.
Since Amul revealed its intentions to sell milk and curd in the Bengaluru market, Siddharamaiah has been on a crusade against the BJP, which is now in power in India.
Amul to buy KMF?
This initiative by Amul to sell milk in the Bengaluru market is being perceived as a threat to the well-known dairy brand ‘Nandini’, which is produced by KMF. Opposition parties are particularly concerned about this development.
They also believe that it is an effort to tread all over KMF in the midst of a story revolving around Amul’s merger with KMF.
Siddaramaiah then stated, “Is your aim of coming to Karnataka to donate to Karnataka or to take from Karnataka? You have already taken from Kannadigas their banks, ports, and airports; are you now attempting to steal Nandini (KMF) from us?
“It was Gujarat’s Baroda Bank that swallowed our Vijaya Bank. Adani was given control of the region’s ports and airports. Now, Amul from Gujarat is making preparations to consume our KMF (Nandini). Mr. Narendra Modi, Are we to be considered the adversaries of Gujaratis?”
“Instead of giving 2 crore jobs a year to youths, Narendra Modi took away the jobs of Kannadigas from our banks, ports, and airports,” he continued, adding that “Now Karnataka BJP wants to hurt the prospects of our farmers by giving KMF to Amul,” he continued, adding that “Now Karnataka BJP wants to hurt the prospects of our farmers by giving KMF to Amul.”
To take part in the celebration of “Project Tiger” becoming 50 years old, Prime Minister Modi visited the districts of Mysuru and Chamarajanagara.
