The Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) government in Telangana is already under fire for allegations made against its leader K Kavitha in the Delhi liquor scam and is now in trouble due to question paper leaks in the state.
The question paper for the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) exam held on February 27 was allegedly leaked, according to a special investigation team (SIT) established last month to look into the claims. The SIT discovered that two employees working in the TSPSC main office had downloaded the question paper from an office computer and sold it for Rs 10 lakh.
Within minutes after the start of the tests, images of the SSC exam question papers began to circulate online on two separate days this week.
The opposition Congress and BJP now have new tools with which to launch attacks on the BRS and single out Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his family. Calls for an investigation have been embraced even by the Left, which has declared its support for the BRS against the BJP.
With the arrest of BJP Telangana president Bandi Sanjay Kumar in the early hours of Wednesday, the BRS now appears to be retaliating after accusing him of “orchestrating” the Tuesday SSC question paper leak. Asserting that members of the CM’s family were responsible for the leaks, Kumar has been at the forefront of attacks on the BRS government.
