While Rahul Gandhi is campaigning for the Congress in Karnataka, Home Minister Amit Shah was in another southern state of Telangana, where the Home Minister took a direct dig at Telangana Chief Minister KCR.The Home Minister said that, “in fact very soon the public will topple the KCR government on the day of the campaign”.
On Sunday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah was addressing a Vijay Sankalp meeting in Telangana’s Chevella, in which he said, “Muslim reservation belongs to STs, SCs, and OBCs as a right”, a pitch made to scrap the 4% quota in Karnataka had gone, now the same pitch is being made in Telangana as well.”
This massive rally is proof that the countdown has begun on the corruption of the last 8-9 years of the BR’s government in the coming elections. KCR put our prisoner Sanjay in jail. He thinks the BJP worker is scared of going to jail. KCR, listen carefully, every worker here is not afraid to testify about your crimes, Home Minster Amit Shah said.
He termed the religious-based reservations as ‘unconstitutional’.
He criticized the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government alleging corruption in several projects and said the BJP’s fight will not stop until the corrupt regime is thrown out.
Amit Shah accused the K Chandrasekhar Rao government of implementing the Asaduddin Owaisi-led AIMIM “agenda” in the state.
“No government can run in Telangana whose steering is with the Majlis (Owaisi). We are not afraid of the Majlis. The government of Telangana will run for the people of the state. It will not run for Owaisi”, Mr. Shah said.
Hitting back at Amit Shah’s decision to scrap the 4% of Muslim reservation, Owaisi tweeted, Apart from anti-Muslim hate speech, “BJP has no vision for Telangana. They can only offer a fake encounter, surgical strike on Hyderabad, curfew, and release of criminals and bulldozers. Why do you hate muslim so much? he asked.
In his another tweet, Mr. Owaisi said, ” If shah is serious about for SCs, STs, OBCs, then he should introduce a constitutional amendment to remove 50% quota ceiling, Reservation for backward Muslim groups is based on empirical data”.
Assembly elections in Telangana will be held later this year.
BJP-ruled Karnataka recently scrapped the 4 percent reservation for Muslims and decided to distribute it equally between the two major Hindu communities ahead of the May 10 assembly elections.
