The Aam Aadmi Party opposed the BBMP’s intention to build a flyover and widen Sanki Tank Road, stating that if AAP were to take control of the BBMP, it would halt this project and build world-class infrastructure in accordance with the requirements and wants of the populace. Party state president Prithvi Reddy responded to the media today (February 3, Friday 2023), stating that due to the project’s flaws and negative environmental effect, we would support those who are opposed to the construction of the flyover on Sanki Tank Road. He claimed that the city has already been severely harmed by a number of such projects, so there is no need to add yet more to the list.
BBMP CORRUPTION
The Metropolitan Planning Committee should create the city plan, and the Bangalore Metropolitan Road Transport Authority should choose and organize the transportation projects. These prior endeavors have demonstrated that the BBMP lacks the expertise and resources necessary to plan major infrastructure projects. He said that because of the BBMP’s pervasive corruption, the project for the flyover would be a complete failure.
The Karnataka BJP government ought to abide with the law. Urban planning should be assigned to and handled by MPC members. MPC should complete projects related to roads, transportation, water, and housing rather than departments or agencies. According to Prithvi Reddy, BMLTA should provide project proposals for the transportation industry on the basis of a suitable mobility strategy created by the organization. First and foremost, elected governments must honor public sentiment. This project was unsuccessful, and the locals rejected it for a variety of reasons. These folks weren’t contacted when the project proposal was being created. According to Prithvi Reddy, the Karnataka branch of the Aam Aadmi Party opposes the project’s plan since it disregards the public’s views.
We will abandon this initiative if the Aam Aadmi Party wins the BBMP election. In accordance with the requirements and preferences of the populace, Aam Aadmi Party would build world-class infrastructure in Bangalore. People in Delhi and Punjab, who have observed the growth of the Aam Aadmi Party, have stated that Karnataka would soon see the implementation of comparable development projects.
