YS Sharmila was arrested by Hyderabad police on Monday after allegedly assaulting police officers who attempted to prevent her from leaving her house.
YSR Telangana Party president YS Sharmila slammed Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) on Tuesday over her clash with police officers on Monday in Hyderabad. Sharmila described him as a ‘tyrant and stated yesterday’s encounter was horrible, with male police officers approaching her in a threatening manner to stop her.
It was horrible what happened yesterday. The people of Telangana have witnessed KCR’s tyranny once more. Both a house arrest order and an arrest warrant were lacking from the police. Only two female officers were present; all the other officers were male. The male police officers began threateningly approaching me and nearly touching my body in an attempt to stop me. She cited both intimidation and extreme embarrassment.
Sharmila, the sister of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, was arrested by Hyderabad police on Monday after allegedly assaulting police officers who attempted to prevent her from leaving her home. She planned to join the party’s protest outside the SIT’s office, which is investigating the leak of Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) recruitment exam question papers.
Sharmila was seen pushing aside police officers and slapping a female constable for blocking her from getting into the car in a video clip provided by the news agency. Sharmila’s mother, YS Vijayalakshmi, wife of late Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy, was also accused of attacking police officers who prevented her from meeting her daughter at the police station. However, Vijayalakshmi was not charged by the police.
She got into a fight with the cops, who insisted on not letting her in. When the cops tried to drag her back, she allegedly slapped one of them.
