The 2028 race will be the D(S) leader’s final Assembly vote, Kumaraswamy stated on Tuesday, adding that he will continue to become engaged in politics after then and run in subsequent elections. Many people interpret the 63-year-old politician’s remark as a sign that he intends to participate actively in mainstream politics.
“I’ve stated that the Legislative contest in 2028 will be my final opportunity to serve. I’ll continue to run for office and vote during elections, “said Mr. Kumaraswamy.
He told local media outlets that “our could continue such is; it’s necessary to make choices as per what has happened, and therefore have spoken whatever I would always have to.”Mr. Kumaraswamy will run from Channapatna this time. The JD(S) has already released the initial list of 93 contestants for the Assembly elections, which will most likely occur in April or May. In response to an inquiry, Mr. Kumaraswamy stated that H D Deve Gowda, the founder of the JD(S), and his dad would deliberate on the nomination for the Hassan Parliamentary constituency.
The Hassan electoral nomination has become an important source of conflict because Mr. Kumaraswamy having made it plain that his sister-in-law Bhavani Revanna would not be nominated and also has preferred a “reliable member of the party” as the nominee from just that district, notwithstanding his having entered the race.
