Tollywood director K Vishwanath’s burial, which would take place on Friday, passed away on Monday night. The film business and the admirers of the seasoned director also referred to him as Kalathapasvi. The death of Viswanath has devastated the South Indian cinema industry. On their social media profiles, several well-known individuals also shared their sorrow and sympathies with his family.

Numerous stars, notably Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, SS Rajamouli, MM Keeravani, Allu Aravind, Kota Srinivasa Rao, and others, visited his home in Hyderabad’s Film Colony where his dead body was preserved for public respect.

In the Andhra Pradesh town in Repalle’s Guntur district, Viswanath was born in 1930. He has helmed around 50 films, many of which will go down in Telugu film history as modern classics. He relocated to Tamilnadu to pursue his interest in cinema, where he began working as a sound engineer in a rehearsal room. In 1965, he made his directing debut with the film Atma Gauravam. With the publication of 1976, the film Siri Siri Muvva first gained notoriety. His movie Sankarabharanam made Telugu history of cinema. The film took home the National Award for the Most Outstanding Picture.

He gained notoriety and wealth thanks to Sagara Sangam, Srutilayalu, Sirivennela, Swarnakamalam, and Swati Kiranam. His movies like Sapthapadi, Swati Mutyam, Swayam Krishi, Subhodayam, Shubhalekha, Aapadbandhavudu, and Subha Sankalpam brought societal issues to light and promoted a consciousness of them. Subhapradam was his final production as a filmmaker.

He received Padma Shri from the federal government in 1992 through recognition for his contributions to Indian film. In 2016, he also earned the Dadasaheb Trophy. In addition to directing, he has acted in several Telugu superhit movies.
