No clarity on the seat from which former CM Siddaramaiah would contest. There is a clash between the party’s local leaders of Kolar and Congress’s high command as Rahul Gandhi has instructed to fight from the safe seat of Varuna in the Mysuru district. There is a bit of discomfort for Siddaramaiah according to surveys by Karnataka Congress. The survey in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala predicted unfavorable conditions for the former CM in Kolar.
Two blocs have been created in Kolar that of Former Ramesh Kumar versus former Union Minister KH Muniyappa which can trouble CM Siddharimaiah.
On Tuesday, the news came in amid strong disagreements between the party’s local leaders of Kolar and Congress High Command amid the Karnataka State Assembly elections 2023 which is scheduled to be held in May.
As the Karnataka Assembly elections are around the corner, many leaders from districts like Kolar, Badami, and Varuna want Siddaramaiah to contest the elections. But according to Rahul Gandhi’s instructions, he is most likely to fight from the safe seat of Varuna.
Siddaramanahundi Siddarame Gowda Siddaramaiah, also known as Siddu has served as Karnataka’s Chief Minister from 13 May 2013 to 17 May 2018. He is currently serving as Leader of the opposition party in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly.
Amid state assembly elections in May, the congress is deciding from which seat Siddharamaiah will fight. The survey was conducted by party leaders on the seats of Kolar. According to the survey, the seat has two factions which are not favorable for him. Rahul Gandhi has instructed Siddharamaiah to fight from the safe seat of Varuna from where his son won the seat in the 2018 State Assembly elections. So far there is no clarity on which seat former CM Siddharamaiah is going to contest in the elections.
