A gas leak in northern India killed 11 Indians.

A gas leak in northern India killed at least 11 people, including women and children, who lived in the city of Ludhiana in Punjab. Several were found unconscious in their homes. Four are treated in the hospital; the area was getting sealed off because, after that, they face breathing difficulties.

The district administration gave an official statement that hydrogen sulphide gas at a high level had been detached in the area and had been spread from manholes.

Ludhiana deputy commissioner Surabhi Malik said that we are collecting samples of the manholes because of the possibility of some chemical reacting with methane in them.

As per local legislation, the Rajinder Pal Kaur incident occurred near a milk shop.

For rescue, the team of the national disaster response force has been deployed to the site of the factories in Gaspura, Ludhiana.

The incident in Visakhapatnam around three years ago killed 12 people in a gas leak.
