Anurag: No development in Jalandhar, AAP has given ‘model of destruction’

Anurag Singh Thakur, the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Youth Affairs, and Sports, expressed his worry about the lack of necessary basic infrastructure in Jalandhar, Punjab. He claimed that it is obvious that no new construction has been done in the past year when strolling through the streets of Jalandhar. The Union Minister attributed the lack of advancement and development in Jalandhar and throughout Punjab to the Aam Aadmi Party.

Thakur also bemoaned the declining state of Jalandhar, which was once recognised for its sports sector, health, and infrastructure. He claimed that the city lacked necessities like clean streets and strong infrastructure. He continued, “The Aam Aadmi Party had pledged to transform Jalandhar into a sports centre, but they have transformed the entire Punjab into an extortion hub.”

The Jalandhar Smart City Project was also criticised by Thakur, who claimed that despite Jalandhar’s inclusion in the initiative, no progress has been done thus far. He questioned the ability of the state’s current government, the AAP, to offer effective governance, claiming they have not done so.

The Union Minister emphasised the Bharat Janata Party’s work in Punjab, noting that they had funded the Punjab AIIMS, the PGI satellite centre, and a smart city project with Rs 950 crore. He continued by saying that only the BJP government had made it feasible for all of the new highways and mega motorways. The Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, the ropeway leading to Hemkund Sahib, and the Char Dham Yatra were all made accessible by the Modi government, according to Thakur.

Thakur continued by saying that the Modi administration observed Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj Ji’s Prakash Parv and started observing Sahabzad’s sacrifice day as Veer Bal Diwas. In response to the 1983 Sikh riots, the Modi administration established the SIT. He said, They ran special flights to bring the holy Guru Granth Sahib and Sikh families to India, stopping the attack on Sikh brothers in Afghanistan.
