BJP MP Tejasvi Surya vandalised public property with the BJP logo: BNP claims

The Bengaluru NavaNirmana Party (BNP) has criticised the Karnataka BJP’s decision to paint its electoral emblem on the walls of homes in Bengaluru as part of its Vijaya Sankalpa Abhiyana ahead of the assembly elections and said that the BJP has ignored a court order and BBMP regulations. The Bengaluru NavaNirmana Party (BNP) has charged Tejasvi Surya, a member of the BJP from Bengaluru South, with breaking the BBMP’s Advertisement Bye-laws (2006) by spray-painting his party’s emblem on public buildings.

The BNP also condemn Surya’s “illegal activities,” noting that Bengaluru is already struggling to remove unauthorised flex banners and posters that are damaging the city’s attractiveness.

The BNP reported seeing such murals in Begur and a few other locations in Bengaluru.

According to the BBMP’s advertisement bye-laws (2006), “Wall painting shall not be used as an outdoor medium in the city of Bengaluru except in the specified “D” zone as per restrictions stipulated by the Council in this respect.”
