Manchester City defeat Sevilla in penalty shoot, win UEFA super cup

Among the two famous Manchesters of football tinseltown, Manchester City is having a better time than the once lethal and a now shadow of their past Manchester United. After all there is a good reason to be, they have won the UEFA Super. Cup after all, cue popping champagnes and a gala time. Football has never lost their media glare, instead most players work better under the increased scrutiny and at the same time juggle a host of big shot endorsements, case in point, David Beckham, who retains his presence till date.

The match was a nail biting thriller that originally ended in a 1-1 draw, and personally speaking, I am not a fan of draws, they feel like a waste of time and effort. You have a stunning lineup and 90 whole minutes, 90 minutes and yet you draw? IT IS SUCH AN OUTRAGE. Well, in this case and thankfully so, the final outcome was decided by a penalty shootout which was ultimately given a perfect swan song in the form of Nemanja Gudelj that sealed the fate of Manchester United and its charismatic leader, Pep Guardiola who has undertaken various trials of fire and while this win will reflect very favorably on his curriculum vitae, it has now made him understandably subject to higher expectations from the throngs of fans in the Etihad stadium who keep demanding more and more wins for this illustrious club.

This comes as the 15th trophy that started from his reign in 2016 and also makes up for the loss they suffered to Arsenal, also known as the Gunners, ironically in a penalty shootout 10 days ago. He is now the second Cityzen after Carlo Ancelotti to win the Super Cup 4 times and the first to win it with 3 different teams including Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

Pep rallies for Pep, as the current situation is.
