A new snake species to be named after Harrison Ford

Snakes are the myserious, hypnotic eyed creatures of the animal world, you do not want to be in the same vicinity as one and you cannot feel helpless and amazed when you see one. Even in astrology they are identified with the two legendary shadow planets, Rahu and Ketu, although in more modern interpretations, Ketu is considered to lord over these creatures and is a reason as to why Ketuvian natives often have a penetrating expression in their eyes and often a tendency to mesmerize.

I personally was nearly bitten by two black venomous kraits on two consecutive days while I was 18 and in Goa. First time was my trademark recklessnessnes of wanting to pet one and then being shoved by a snake catcher and the second time was when I accidentally sat on a seat right above a snake’s burrow and then out he appeared, hood raides, a scanning epxression in his eye for some speechless momentsthat soon changed to “I will be sparing you for now” as he went his way and I, mine.

Of course it is now more than evident that I like snakes in my own capacity and still haven’t abandoned the fantasy of wearing an anaconda around my neck like a garland, soemething that is a whim you can argue and I think it will make for a good anecdote, for I consider myself an able raconteur.

Harrison ford is meanwhile living my fantasies of stardom and having ants and arthropods named after him. Yes indeed, the names are respectively Pheidole harrisonfordi and Calponia harrisonfordi. The newly discovered snake in the Peruvian region has been christened as tachymenoides harrisonfordi, a 16 inch marvel. Ford unlike his world weary, square jawed and sharp witted Indiana Jones character actually likes the snake and has taken it rather sportingly, in his trademark smilingly laconic way.

Talk about making hiss-tory eh? (pun intended).
