Aam Aadmi Party which for the past few years is trying to expand in other states on Tuesday announced that three candidates had been nominated for Mangaluru South, Mulki-Moodbidri, and Sullia in the district for the forthcoming assembly election in Karnataka. AAP on Monday also released its first list of 80 candidates for the upcoming assembly elections.
Sathosh Kamath will be fighting the poll from Mangaluru South, Vijaynath Vithal Shetty from Mulki-Moodbidri, and Sumana Bellarkar from Sullia, President of Dakshina Kannada unit Ashok Adamale told reporters on Tuesday.
The party throw in some surprises when it announced that it is also fielding Sharatchandra from Channapatna, who is a relative of the Congress state president DK Shivakumar.
Adamale said that the party leadership has decided to fight from all 224 assembly constituencies of Karnataka. He also said that the list of the next 100 candidates will be announced on March 27. Prithvi Reddy who is the state president of AAP also said that these candidates are chosen from a survey and they come from all walks of life like farmers, women, and youth
Other than Delhi the party has previously fought in Goa, Gujarat, and Punjab where it was able to get 5, 2, and 92 seats respectively. The party has its government currently in Punjab and Delhi.
