Arvind Kejriwal “Running Off” from an investigation agency; Delhi BJP Chief

After the AAP stated that the Enforcement Directorate had plans to arrest Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi BJP head Virendra Sachedva initiated a vendetta on the Aam Aadmi Party and Delhi head Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Mr Sachedva referred to the AAP as a “Choro ki Baraat” (parade of thieves) that was making noise and weeping for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal when he fled the investigating agency.

Kejriwal stated at a news conference that he has clarified to the ED that their invitation is illegal and added that he will not carry out an illegitimate order. He stated that his honesty is his greatest strength and advantage, stating that he has constantly battled for the country.

He also questioned the notice’s timeliness, claiming that the BJP attempts to prevent him from contesting for the Lok Sabha elections. He stated that he worked with the CBI once they contacted him eight months prior, but the ED is now attempting to charge him in a 31-year-old investigation.

Following the AAP’s assertions that the Enforcement Directorate had arrested Arvind Kejriwal, security surrounding the Delhi Chief Minister’s residence has been increased. The AAP, on the other hand, is refusing to back down from its accusations. “It is obvious that they (BJP) want to eradicate the Aam Aadmi Party and imprison Arvind Kejriwal ahead of  Lok Sabha elections,” AAP leader Jasmine Shah said today. According to reliable sources, a raid will be undertaken and Arvind Kejriwal will be detained.”

On Wednesday, AAP politician and Delhi’s Law and PWD Minister, Atishi, posted on the social networking site X, “News came in that ED  is set to raid@ArvindKejriwal’s home tomorrow morning.” Arrest is quite likely.”

Minutes after Atishi’s tweet, Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj similarly wrote on X, stating that the Enforcement Directorate was investigating Mr Kejriwal’s detention.

On Wednesday, the Delhi Chief Minister ignored the Enforcement Directorate’s third summons. On December 22, last year, the ED issued an additional notice which was a third notice,  to Chief Minister Kejriwal in connection with the suspected Delhi liquor scam, summoning him to show up before the agency on January 3.
In his response, Mr. Kejriwal stated his willingness to help with the inquiry but failed to attend on the called date, calling the notification “illegal.”

The Delhi Chief Minister stated in his written response to the Enforcement Directorate, “As an investigating agency, the secrecy and you not being able to respond approach cannot stand the test of law, equity, or justice.” Your rigidity is akin to simultaneously serving as judge, the court, and executioner, which is not permitted in this rule-of-law country.”

“In these instances, I ask you to respond to my prior reply by explaining your position in order to assist me in understanding the actual purpose of the alleged inquiry for the reason that I have been called in”, he said when responding to the query.

The Delhi Chief Minister was summoned to appear before the central agency on November 2, but he did to show, claiming that the warning was “ambiguous, driven and unreasonable in law.” He further said that the summons looked to be politically driven and issued for unrelated reasons.
