Controversy Erupts Over India’s Potential Renaming to Bharat

Senior Congressman Jairam Ramesh said on Tuesday. Invitations to a G20 summit dinner held at the Rashtrapati Bhawan had inscribed “President of Bharat”. Rather than “President of India” on them, in a new attack on the BJP-led central government.

Congress national secretary Jairam Ramesh posted on X (previously Twitter) that “Rashtrapati Bhawan has sent out an invite for a G20 dinner on Sept. 9th in the name of ‘President of Bharat’ instead of the usual ‘President of India.”

Additionally, he said, “Now, Article 1 of the Constitution can read: “Bharat, which was India, shall be a Union of States. However, the “Union of States” is currently under attack.

On September 9 and 10, the G20 Summit will take place in the nation’s capital under the auspices of India. It will be attended by a number of international leaders, including US Vice President Joe Biden.

The Congress politician criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying, “Mr. Modi can continue to split India, that is Bharat, that is a Union of States. But we won’t let it stop us.

“After all, what do INDIA parties want to accomplish? Bring Harmony, Amity, Reconciliation, and Trust is what BHARAT stands for. BHARAT Judega “JEETAG INDIA!” Ramesh tacked on.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, added: “REPUBLIC OF BHARAT – happy and proud that our civilization is marching ahead boldly towards AMRIT KAAL.”

Sanjay Singh of the AAP said earlier today that Mohan Bhagwat’s Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is trying to replace the word “India” with the word “Bharat” in the nation’s Constitution.

“India That Is Bharat,” Babasaheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar penned in the constitution. Modi and the RSS, who despise Babasaheb, however, want to alter the constitution. Why are Bhagwat and Modi so hostile towards Babasaheb? Sanjay Singh stated in his post on ‘X’.

This comes after Mohan Bhagwat earlier this month. He asked people to adopt the practice of referring to India as “Bharat” rather than India.
