Digvijay Singh: Finds himself in trouble yet again over his tweets.

Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh has found himself to be in trouble yet again over his tweet in which he thanked the German foreign affairs ministry.

“Thank you Germany Foreign Affairs Ministry and Richard Walker for taking note of how Democracy is being compromised in India through persecution of Rahul Gandhi,”

Singh’s tweet came out when a German foreign ministry spokesperson said that “they take note of the verdict that came out against the Indian opposition leader Rahul Gandhi as well as the suspension of his parliamentary mandate.”

Denouncing this, Anurag Thakur, Minister of Information and Broadcast, said that “the Congress is a disgrace to this nation” adding to this “the Congress and Rahul Gandhi don’t believe to fight India’s democratic, political & legal battle within the country, hence, invite foreign powers to interfere in our internal matter.”

Without taking any names, INC’s General Secretary Jairam Ramesh came out on Twitter and said “firmly believes that India’s democratic processes themselves have to deal with the threats posed to our democracy by Mr. Modi’s assault on our institutions & his politics of vendetta, intimidation, threats & harassment. INC & opposition parties will take him on fearlessly.

This is not the first time that Singh has tweeted something that has caused controversy, on the fourth anniversary of the Pulwama attack on February 14, Singh said that CRPF soldiers lost their lives in the Pulwama incident in Kashmir due to “blatant intelligence failure.”

In January, Singh claimed that the Surgical Strikes on Line of Control (LOC) were fake in 2016. This was during the Bharat Jodo Yatra where he was addressing a crowd in Jammu. He said “They (Centre) say talk about surgical strikes and that they have killed so many of them but there is no proof. All they do is spread lies.”

The next day, however, Rahul Gandhi addressing the crowd said that he doesn’t agree with him and that he has complete faith in the Indian army.
