Dr. S Jaishankar recently concluded his 3 day visit to South Africa for a conclave of the BRICS nation. External Affair Minister Dr. S Jaishankar on his visit to Cape Town, South Africa addressed BRICS nation and simultaneously extended diplomatic relationship between the India and South Africa.
During his visit to South Africa, Dr. Jaishankar also addressed Indian Diaspora with his longing speech and did meetings with the government officials at the end of the day. Although, the visit to South Africa becomes a matter of controversy.
The Controversy
External Affair Minister S Jaishankar while addressing Indian Diaspora in Cape Town, South Africa said that ‘some people only promote them and politics on world stage, not India.’ This statement made fiercely by S Jaishankar was considered as an attack on Congress Minister Rahul Gandhi. He asserted that ‘Rahul Gandhi on his lectures and speeches described Indian Prime Minister as a specimen and loosely described Indian policies.’
However, some people appreciated the rigorous statements by S jaishankar but some got offended and referred S Jaishankar speech as defamatory speech.
Furthermore, Dr. Jaishankar said that ‘there is a national interest and collective responsibility in a democratic environment, which is not bigger than politics. Some people have to understand it while addressing people globally.’
