Police arrests 8 people for illegally putting posters

Police arrests 8 people for illegally putting posters. Eight people were arrested by the police on Friday 31st March 2023 in relation to the “Modi Hatao, Desh Bachao (remove Modi, save nation)” posters. This incident took place in Ahmedabad just days after the Delhi Police filed 185 cases and apprehended 6 people regarding similar material last week. This action taken by the Delhi Police made the AAP convener and Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal compare the situation with that of the British Rule. The Gujrat Police said that they took the action of arresting eight people because they were illegally putting up posters about PM Narendra Modi. One of the officers even commented saying, “The miscreants put up posters about Prime Minister Narendra Modi with offensive slogans and tried to damage government property.”

The six people that were arrested in Delhi were later released on bail after just a few hours. The AAP condemned the action, saying the arrests were a “direct assault on India’s democratic structure”. The posters contained information such as whether the country needs an educated Prime Minister or not. This happened in Delhi on Thursday, just a week after the ‘Modi Hatao, Desh Bachao’ campaign released by the AAP. The AAP leader as well as Delhi minister, Gopal Rai said similar posters in other languages will be put up in 22 states. He also added that the party would put all these posters at universities across India from April 10.

Message from BJP

The BJP also cleverly responded to the situation by making ‘Kejriwal Hatao, Desh Bachao’ posters and putting theme across the city. The Delhi Spokesperson, Harish Khurana replied to Kejriwal saying that the more they attack PM Modi, the more his popularity will increase. This will only benefit PM Modi and prove to be in his favor. For more such updates and important headlines, subscribe to STMN News.
