During the Brics foreign ministers’ meeting held in Cape Town, South Africa, on Thursday, India’s External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar called for concerted efforts by all member nations to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Jaishankar, along with his counterparts from China and Russia, emphasized the need to take resolute measures against terrorism, including targeting its financing and propaganda. The meeting, which precedes the Brics summit scheduled for August, aims to address key global issues and promote collective action among the member countries.

Key Points:

Brics Summit Venue Controversy:

Reports surfaced suggesting that South Africa was considering relocating the Brics summit venue to either China or Mozambique due to an International Criminal Court (ICC) war crimes arrest warrant issued against Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, the official decision on the venue remains pending.
