Kiran Kumar Reddy joins BJP; Claimed Wrong decisions by the party

In yet another jolt to the Congress party, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Kiran Kumar Reddy joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, the former CM stated that he had never thought that he would ever leave Congress, and blamed the “wrong decisions” by the party leadership for it.

Reddy lashed out at the Congress leadership for its inability to accept people’s verdict and make course corrections. Reddy said Congress are stubborn and believe that they are always correct and all others are wrong.

“What has happened is, state after state, due to bad decisions of Congress high command, the party is getting damaged in all states. They don’t interact with people. They don’t take the opinion of the leaders. It is not the story of one state. It is a story throughout the country,” he quoted.

Talking about the Congress leadership, “There is an old saying – my king is very intelligent, he doesn’t think on his own, and he doesn’t listen to anyone’s advice.” Reddy said with a heavy dose of sarcasm.

Reddy compared the rise of the BJP with the decline of the Congress since 1984 and appreciated the BJP and its workers, led by Prime Minister Modi and his commitment towards the nation.

He stated that clarity of thought, consistency and taking courageous decisions are some of the things that makes the BJP stand out.

Reddy’s induction into the BJP comes a day after former defense minister AK Antony’s son Anil Antony switched to the saffron party and slammed a section of the Congress leadership for “serving the interests of a single family” instead of working for the country.

This move, ahead of the elections is said to have a major impact.
