Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, and Tejashwi Yadav, his deputy, arrived in Kolkata on Monday afternoon to meet Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal. Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav travelled to the state secretariat, or “Nabanna,” where they would meet with Banerjee, after arriving at the airport.

Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), and Nitish Kumar will meet today in Lucknow as part of the difficult task of brin

According to officials speaking to PTI, the three leaders would meet behind closed doors to plan their strategy for taking on the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha election.

Before the 2024 Lok Sabha election, this is thought to be an attempt to coalesce Opposition forces against the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government at the Centre.

Given their prior affiliations with the Congress party, the de-facto head of the JDU could find it challenging to persuade both leaders. While Sudip Bandyopadhyay, a senior TMC MP, indicated that the Trinamool Congress will go its own way and keep its distance from both the Congress and the BJP, Akhilesh Yadav stated that SP will maintain equal distance from both the Congress and the BJP.

Nitish Kumar departed Patna at midday today in order to see CM Banerjee at her office in the state secretariat “Nabanna” at approximately 2:00 p.m. The JDU leader would go to Lucknow to see Akhilesh Yadav after his meeting with Mamata Banerjee.

The Samajwadi Party would take the lead in forming an opposition alliance in Uttar Pradesh, according to Akhilesh Yadav, who made this plain.

When Nitish Kumar was questioned about the meeting, he responded, “Why raise such questions now? When everything is done, we’ll speak.

Post- Meeting conference

The three leaders stated the conversations were fruitful in a joint press conference after the meeting.

“We have discussed several topics, including the coming together of the parties and the preparations for the next parliamentary elections. The interests of the country will be served by whatever action is taken next. Those in power currently have nothing to do. They are only raising awareness of themselves.” The chief minister of Bihar said that nothing was being done for the growth of the country.

“I just asked Nitish Kumar for one thing. The movement of Jayaprakash ji originated in Bihar. We may choose our next destination if we have an all-party meeting in Bihar. But before anything else, we need to send a message of unity. I’ve already said that I have no objections. I want the BJP to disappear. With the help of the media and its falsehoods, they have become huge heroes, Mamata said.

“We’ll go forward together. We want to operate as a team and have no personal egos, she continued.

Last month, Mamata Banerjee met with Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), Naveen Patnaik, the chief minister of Odisha, and the former chief minister of Karnataka H.D Kumaraswamy.
