Mumbai continues to lead the ISL standings with 43 points after 17 games, seven more than Hyderabad, which has 36 points from 16 games. Hyderabad FC played the game thinking of a win that would increase their hopes of winning the League Shield, but they were stopped again but the number 1 team.
Jamshedpur FC win against Highlanders
In the other ISL encounter of the day, Jamshedpur FC defeated NorthEast United FC 2-0 in Guwahati to earn their third win of the season.
The visiting team won, thanks to goals from Ritwik Das and Daniel Chima in the first and second halves. Jamshedpur FC has 12 points after their third victory of the season, three points behind East Bengal FC in the tenth position. Boothroyd stated that the game was difficult since both teams were competing for pride.
The Red Soldiers have struggled to retain clean sheets this season, with only two so far. The Jamshedpur FC head coach feels that having a strong defence is critical to winning titles. In the 57th minute, Jamshedpur FC increased their lead when Crivellaro sent a through ball for Chukwu to nestle into the far post.
However, the victory was insufficient for Jamshedpur, who are already out of contention for the playoffs.
