Nokia to launch new smartphone made of recycled material, the Nokia X30 5G in India

Nokia unveiled their brand new smartphone Nokia X30 at IFA 2022 in Berlin on the 1st of September last year. HMD Global revealed that this model is the most eco-friendly handset ever made by the company. The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G chipset and features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display. Nokia is now planning to launch the Nokia X30 5G smartphone in India.

In a tweet, Mr. Sanmeet Kochhar, HMD Global’s Vice President for India & MENA, confirmed that the company is going to launch the model in India soon. However, the exact timeline of its release in India is yet to be unveiled.

The tweet also mentioned that the Nokia X30 5G smartphone is built with “100 percent recycled aluminum and 65 percent recycled plastic,” making the model its most eco-friendly smartphone till date. 

The device is set to run on Android 12 out-of-the-box and comes in two memory and storage variations – 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage. The smartphone is built with a 6.43-inch full-HD+ display supporting up to 90Hz refresh rate. The display includes the Gorilla Glass Victus alongside an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The Nokia X30 5G smartphone includes a dual rear camera setup which has a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. The smartphone is IP67 rated for water resistance and dust, and also supports NFC connectivity. The smartphone is packed with a 4,200mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging.

Being that, whether the smartphone will be available with the same features and specifications in India is yet to be unveiled.
