Odisha BJP Forms Two Committees for Effective Management of Jharsuguda Bypoll

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Odisha has set up two committees to manage the Jharsuguda by-election, which is scheduled for May 10.

One committee, comprising eight members, will oversee the election campaign, with former Union Minister and ex-Minister of State Amit Shah as its head. The other 14-member committee, headed by MPs Jual Oram and Suresh Pujari, will also work towards ensuring the effective management of the by-election.

The committees are tasked with overseeing the BJP’s election campaign for the upcoming by-election, which is expected to see a tough competition between BJP’s candidate Tankadhar Tripathy, Tarun Pandey of Congress, and Dipali Das of the BJD. Tankadhar Tripathy, a notable candidate for the by-election in Jharsuguda, is expected to have strong support from the party, which is aiming to win the election and gain a foothold in the region.

The nomination period for the by-election ends on April 20, with the scrutiny of nominations scheduled for April 21. Candidates can withdraw their nominations until April 24. The by-election, to be held on May 10, will witness voting in the assembly constituency, with the results expected to be declared on May 13.

The committees’ formation by the BJP underscores the party’s commitment to winning the Jharsuguda by-election. The committees are expected to work towards coordinating the election campaign, mobilizing supporters, and ensuring the effective management of the polling process. With the election just a few weeks away, the BJP is leaving no stone unturned to ensure its victory in the by-election. The party’s decision to form two committees is a strategic move that is likely to bolster its chances of success.
