Odisha Government set to provide free coaching to 200 aspirants; Entrance test on Feb 26

The Odisha Higher Education Department intends to offer free coaching and guidance to aspirants for the Union Public Service Commission’s Civil Services Examination (UPSC).

This year, the government will provide free coaching to 200 aspirants.

Dhirendra Nath Kar, Joint Secretary of Higher Education, has directed the General Manager of OCAC in a letter to develop a new module for UPSC Civil Services coaching enrolment through the SAMS portal.

Besides providing free coaching, the Department will also make accommodations for all 200 applicants. The top 200 candidates will receive the best coaching for both the preliminary and main exams.Enrollment in the coaching, on the other hand, will be done through an entrance examination.

The pre-qualifying examination is set to take place on February 26. Aspirants must apply for admission to the entrance examination and download their admit cards online at the Higher Education Department website.

Last year, the higher education department provided free coaching to civil service aspirants who passed the prelims. After passing the entrance examination, only Odia students from any educational institute in the state are eligible to receive free coaching.

Those who had passed the UPSC Prelims did not have to take the entrance exam and were given direct admission to the coaching.

Last year, however, only students with a family income of less than Rs 10 lakh per year were considered eligible.
