Parliament Budget session 2023
The ‘Appropriation Bill’ was put on hold in today’s session. No discussion on the in today’s session as house adjourned abruptly. While some members of the parliament asked for Rahul Gandhi’s apology. The apology was asked in the context of his recent remarks in London. The session has been adjouned till tomorrow.
What has discussed?
The parliament has agreed on the expenditure allotted for 2023-24. The Appropriation Bill was also passed from the house while no discussion took place.
Why the house adjourned abruptly?
The mayhem on the Adani issue took place by the opposition MPs. They asked for JPC inquiry in the Adani issue according to the ANI. The protest march took place outside the Parliament house till Vijay Chowk. The protestors were stopped at the Vijay Chowk on Thurday morning, 23 march 2023.
What is Appropriation Bill?
The Appropriation Bill gives power to the government to extract funds from Consolidated Fund of India. Article 114 of the Indian Constitution says about the Bill. It says government can withdraw money from Consolidated Fund of India after the approval of the Parliament.
