Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated “
India Energy Week 2023,” which is the first major energy event in India’s G20 presidency under the patronage of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Government of India. It is a two-day program supported by the Federation of Indian Petroleum Industry (FIPI). The event, which will take place from February 6th to 8th, aims to highlight the country’s growing prowess.
On January 12, the Prime Minister visited Hubballi to inaugurate the National Youth Festival; he then returned to the Yadgiri and Kalaburagi districts before his third visit to the state to commemorate Energy Week.
PM’s Word in India Energy Week:
In his opening speech, he conveyed his condolences for the lost and distressed souls who suffered during the disastrous earthquake in Turkey and assured that India would always be there to help. According to him, Bangalore is the land of “technology,” “talent,” and “innovations.” In the era of the 21
st century, energy plays a huge role in terms of securing the future; therefore, in his opinion, in terms of developing the energy resources and transitioning the energy powerhouses, India stands among the top countries in the world. He also pointed out that in the IMF’s growth projection report for 2023, India would be the fastest-growing major economy.

The strategic conference of India Energy Week was divided into different ministerial sessions. As a rapidly developing country and a heavily populous nation, India’s energy transition will play a pivotal role in the world’s energy market. With this in mind, India Energy Week prioritizes energy security, the Prime Minister’s pledge at COP26 to reduce India’s emissions to net zero by 2070, and environmental sustainability by paving the way for decarbonization and a long-term energy transition.
