PM Modi starts a new era of peace for Northeast. Amit Shah the Union Home Minister praises Modi for starting a new era of peace and calm and development in the Northeastern sector. While addressing a rally in Nagaland in its Mon Town, Amit Shah stated that, “PM Modi has started a new era of peace & development in Northeast. We solved the Bodo problem, signed Karbi Anglong peace settlement. I want to tell people of Nagaland that our target is that the Nagaland peace talks also get successful.” He also mentioned how it’s their top priority to bring peace to Nagaland.

Shah also stated that, “Northeast was known for violence and separatism but during the last eight years, rebellious incidents have come down by 70%.”

He also added that, “Attacks on security personnel have also been reduced by 60% while civil casualties have come down to 89%.”

The Home Minister also known as the chairman of the NEC- the nodal agency for the economic and social development of the Northeastern Region which consists of eight states. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. He also mentioned, “The Assam-Meghalaya and Assam-Arunachal border disputes have almost ended, and due to the restoration of peace, the North-East region had moved on the path of development.”

Amit Shah also talked to the NEC and all the other chief ministers of the Northeastern states. He wanted to get support from everyone and unite them all. This plan was put in force to work towards the development of the Northeastern sector. Narendra Modi wanted to help a region like this develop and obtain peace after many years of violence. He also wanted to make Northeast an employment-rich region like all the other states of India. This is one of the biggest reasons for the development of the Northeast.
