As speculated by several poltical analysts, Kammam businessman and former Lok Sabha member P. Srinivasa Reddy, who was recently dismissed from the Bharat Rashtra Samiti, is about to join the Telangana Congress Party.
But before making the decision, Pongleti sought the approval of her former bosses, his YSR his Congress party leader and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister his Y.S. Jagan his Mohan his Reddy.
The reason for this was that Pongreti replaced his YSR parliamentary party card from Kammam where he was elected MP but later he defected to the BRS (formerly he was Telangana Rashtra Samithi). On Saturday, Pongleti came to Tadeparri and had a 40-minute meeting with Jagan Mohan Reddy at the camp office.
He told the prime minister that he was considering joining the parliamentary party with former minister Jupali Krishna Rao.
“I was considering joining the National Party, but I thought it would be better to join the Congress Party, especially given the situation in Telangana and Kammam District,” Pongletty told Jagan.
Andhra Pradesh’s chief minister said he welcomed Pongreti’s decision.
“Whatever political party you belong to, you have to lead for the people. My support will always be with you,” Jagan told the former lawmaker.
The parliamentary committee of Telangana Pradesh A Revanth Reddy reportedly told the party high command that Ponguleti had no objection to joining the party and would strengthen it in Kammam.
However, some parliamentary leaders, including her former parliamentarian Renuka Chowdary, oppose Pongreti’s joining the party, saying it will ruin her chances.
Apparently Pongreti wants party tickets for all of his followers at all of Kammam’s gathering segments, with the exception of Madeira, of course. However, Revanth reassured them that the distribution of party tickets was at the discretion of the High Command, not the PCC or anyone else.
