As allegations are swirling around the AAP leader Lal Chand Kataruchak. He chose to remain silent over all the claims. His former ally and contemporary congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira accused that the AAP leader appointed his close one’s for government positions. He stated Kataruchak misuses his administrative powers. Kataruchak is also accused of raping a man. Punjab’s Governor Banwari Lal Purohit said this is a heinous crime and asked the Punjab CM to remove Kataruchak from the profile of food and civil supplies. The governor said the AAP leader has no right to remain in the cabinet after committing such a heinous crime.
The AAP government reshuffled the cabinet. And appointing Kataruchak in the cabinet symbolises that the Aap government stands in with Kataruchak. A government source confined to the media that “the allegations against Kataruchak is a dead matter now, it was about a relationship between two adults with consent” But after the Governor’s message to the CM, it’s totally comprehensible that the Kataruchak issue is yet not dead.
Who is Lal Chand Kataruchak?
Lal Chand Kataruchak is a far left leader known for his Marxist ideas. He leads a simple life and is known for his simplicity. He won the Bhoa assembly last year in Pathankot district. By Defeating veteran congress leader Joginderpal he became an emerging leader for the Aam Aadmi Party. He became the Dalit Face for people and is known for his socialist deeds.
Allegedly the AAP minister met the victim in 2013-2014 via Facebook and the Victim claimed that Kataruchak was an influential man and he promised him a Job. Due to which the victim didn’t utter a word. And the victim was minor back then. The sexual Advances continued till 2021 Diwali. After that Neither did the victim get a job nor did Kataruchak meet him again.
The Opposition took a slam on the Punjab government after this. Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa bashed that the AAP government by saying that “Even the governor of Punjab sought action against Kataruchak, will the Punjabis ever be served with justice from your side?”
