Congress leader Rahul Gandhi blasted the Modi administration on Wednesday, stating that its’mitr kaal’ budget has no vision to generate employment and no plan to combat inflation, demonstrating that the Centre lacks a path to construct India’s future.
Gandhi’s reply came after finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union budget for 2023-24, in which the government doubled the personal income tax refund maximum, provided tax breaks for modest savings, and pledged one of the largest increases in capital investment in a decade.
“The ‘Mitr Kaal’ Budget contains: NO vision for job creation. There is NO strategy to deal with Mehngai. There is NO intention to reduce inequality. The richest 1% hold 40% of the wealth, the lowest 50% pay 64% of GST, and 42% of youngsters are unemployed – yet the PM doesn’t care!” Gandhi stated this in a tweet.
“This Budget demonstrates that the government has NO plan for building India’s future”, he said.
