Rishi Sunak faces rebellion from MPs on Northern Ireland Protocol Bill

Rishi Sunak faces rebellion from MPs on Northern Ireland Protocol Bill. Rishi Sunak has been elected as the Prime Minister of UK only four months ago, but he is already facing rebellion from Tory MPs. He is facing this dispute over the post-Brexit arrangement. This arrangement is not doing very well and is not in the favor of PM Rishi Sunak. Many MPs are not in full support of the post-Brexit agreement. They also expressed their disapproval of the deal made with the European Union. This deal was mainly made to break the post-Brexit tension and deadlock in Northern Ireland.

Many people including the Brexit supporters as well as members of the conservative party are keeping an eye on the concessions made by the UK. Many reports have stated that there will be a meeting between the UK leader and the President of the European commission. Both Rishi Sunak and Ursula von der Leyen will be discussing various important topics and issues related to the post-Brexit arrangement.

Both the leaders are going to discuss in detail the finals steps of the post-Brexit agreement. Rishi Sunak PM is also going to meet the leaders of Germany and France. This is a very important step which could result in a great success.

Northern Ireland Protocol Bill

Let’s talk a little about the Northern Ireland Protocol Bill. This bill basically refers to a trading deal which was signed or negotiated during the Brexit talks. This bill talks about how good can be transferred across the Irish border without being checked. It was easy to transport the goods before the Brexit agreement. This was possible because both sides followed the same EU protocols. However, after the UK left new measures had to be set for trade because Northern Ireland has a border with Republic of Ireland which is a part of EU. This disagreement has led to Rishi Sunak facing rebellion from MPs.
