Sachin Pilot to form a new party after his demands remain unaddressed

Jaipur:A week after meeting the top leadership of Congress in New Delhi, a report says Sachin Pilot to form a new party in Rajasthan announcing it on June 11 on his father’s death anniversary in Dausa- Pilot’s constituency.

Mr Pilot, along with his rival, CM Gehlot met party leadership in New Delhi last week stating two three demands in front of them which, according to the supporters of Mr Pilot still remains undressed.

Supporters of Sachin Pilot claim that he is waiting for the response of the leadership on his demands.

“He (Pilot) is waiting for a response from the party leadership, the ball is in their court,” quoted sources close to Pilot(PTI)

Although some people close to Pilot have denied the rumours, sources say that the announcement of the formation of the new party is to happen on the occasion of the death anniversary of Sachin Pilot’s father in Dausa on June 11.

Congress  MLA, Murari Lal Meena, who is a close loyalist of Sachin Pilot has denied the speculations saying if such a thing was going to happen, the preparation would have started by now.

“I have no idea where the speculation of the new party started and do not see any substance in such speculations. I work following the ideology of the party,” said Murari Lal Meena (PTI)

Denying the speculation, Congress general secretary and AICC member, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said both Mr Pilot has no intention of leaving the party.

Mr Pilot is not going to form a new outfit, nor did he ever have any such thought in his mind in the past,” said Randhawa in Jaipur

Three Demands of Sachin Pilot

In a four-hour long meeting with party president Mallikarjun Kharge and top leader Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi in which CM Ashok Gehlot was also present, Sachin Pilot put three demands that include investigating corruption charges against Vasundhara Raje government, restructuring of Rajasthan Service Commission and giving compensation to those affected by paper leak case.

Although AICC member Randhawa announced a truce between both leaders after the meeting with leadership, sou se day that meeting had no outcome and the tussle still continues among both the leaders.

“We sat and held discussions for around four hours in Delhi. Everyone including Rahul Gandhi and KC Venugopal spoke. We heard both the leaders,” said Randhawa. “They both were told that together you are the asset of Congress. They both said they will work together.”

Speaking in Tonk where he was elected MLA in 2018, Pilot said he will not backtrack on his demands. “There will be no compromise on the matter of scandals during the BJP regime.”

Pilot vs Gehlot

The tussle between Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot started in 2018 after Congress won the Rajasthan Assembly elections. Out of two top leaders, the party high command chose Ashok Gehlot as the next CM of Rajasthan, letting Mr Pilot settle with the role of deputy CM.

Not satisfied with his role and in a look for a more equal position, Mr Pilot revolted after two years of attempting to break MLAs from the party. The rebellion did not succeed as most MLAs stayed with Gehlot. Since then, Mr Pilot and CM Gehlot are at odds with each other with Gehlot even calling him a Traitor(Gaddar) and useless Nikamma(useless)

Earlier, Congress leadership tried to make Mr Pilot chief minister of Rajasthan, elevating Gehlot to the position of party president. But this formula failed as Gehlot objected to it.

Congress’s high command is trying to bring peace in his Rajasthan unit as the assembly election is due in the state in the month of December. AICC member Randhawa earlier said that both the leaders have agreed to work together in the upcoming election.
