Successful Rescue Operation: PM Modi Congratulates Heroes Behind Uttarkashi Tunnel Operation

In a triumphant rescue mission, all 41 workers trapped in Uttarakhand’s Silkyara tunnel were successfully liberated after a challenging 17-day operation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally reached out to the rescued workers, commending the relentless efforts of the rescue team.

Rescue Operation Overview

The Silkyara tunnel collapse on November 12 left 41 workers stranded, prompting a prolonged rescue operation. Despite the complexity of the situation, a dedicated rescue team executed a day-long rat-mining operation, overcoming challenges posed by massive drilling equipment. Prime Minister Modi lauded the military personnel for their safe and efficient efforts, emphasizing the collaborative spirit and empathy displayed throughout the mission.

Prime Minister Modi expressed his admiration for the rescue team’s exemplary demonstration of collaboration and empathy. He tweeted, acknowledging the bravery and perseverance of the trapped workers, wishing them good health and well-being. Modi highlighted the rescue team’s heroism, stating that they provided the workers with another chance at life.

Workers’ Resilience

During a phone call with Prime Minister Modi, one of the workers shared their remarkable journey, revealing that they never felt fear during the ordeal. Despite hailing from different states, the workers treated each other like brothers, sharing meals and practicing yoga to pass the time. The Prime Minister acknowledged the presence of Union Minister of State General VK Singh (Retd) and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, praising VK Singh’s Army training and discipline.

Prime Minister Modi expressed joy at the workers’ reunion with their loved ones, extending gratitude for the resilience shown by their families during this challenging time. The successful Silkyara tunnel rescue stands as a testament to human cooperation and endurance in the face of adversity.
