Tejashwi Yadav to be summoned by metropolitan court over Gujarat remarks

Tejashwi Yadav, is one of my namesakes. I like to think I had a unique name growing up and as far as my school was concerned, I only met another Tejaswee but the spelling was different, only the pronunciation sounded the same. And it has been nearly 5 years since I met another guy named Tejaswi, the coincidence happened again in 2021 when my former girlfriend’s sister was also named Tejaswi in the same spelling as me and that made up for a lot of jokes on her side, and most of them were quite direct, if not always witty.

Tejashwi Yadav also happens to be a namesake of mine and when people are often trying to remember my name, they say, ‘Oh, you are Tejaswi like Tejashwi Yadav’. Now don’t get me wrong, he belongs to a dynasty of politics, his family is to politics what the Kapoors are to Bollywood, but I personally find the entire comparison quite denigrating. I can safely say that my name has been used 1008 times to in the Ramayana to describe the Sun god, for my name means lustrous, brilliant and yes they are all appropriate synonyms to describe the much talked about god, but Tejashwi Yadav does not do justice to the name in many measures.

He has gotten into hot water recently for saying that all Gujaratis are thugs, and a court summoning is hovering ominously over him, for saying such a remark, which cannot even be blamed on a slip of the tongue, it was an intentional one, i.e, with great satirical potential which would have been handled very deftly by a comedian of the Robin Williams caliber  , but not by him evidently. It does come off as no surprise that offense was taken by many other Gujaratis I believe for they occupy prominent positions in the government, as diamantaires, as businessmen and even the Father of the Nation hailed from the same state after all, so it does not come as a surprise.

Whether the court summons comes or not, the people’s court has already given a verdict.
