Mykhailo Fedorov, the Digital Transformation Minister, states there will be an increase in drone attacks and the destruction of Russian warships. The comment was after the recent attacks against Crimea.

Earlier this week, the country attacked the Russian Black Sea fleet. They attacked the Russian naval fleet with sea drones and missiles. The attack was around the Crimean Peninsula, annexed by Russia in 2014.

Ukraine has recently gained confidence after a series of attacks against Russia. They have taken accountability for the attacks against Crimea after denying involvement. The Russians have confirmed the damage to a warship and submarine. They claim that sea drones were unable to attack them.

Earlier this week, Fedorov posted a grainy video on social media. In the video, he appeared to be aboard a vessel headed towards a large warship. An explosion was audible in the video.

He states that a government-run crowd-funded program funded the attacks. Equipment purchased with the money included drones. Drone production in Ukraine increased to over 100 times in 2023.

Technical advancements in Ukraine

The drone production is likely to rise 120–140 times compared to the previous years. Ukraine is currently testing AI technology that can locate targets several kilometers away. The technology can also guide drones when communications are disturbed.

Ukraine needs AI technology to identify targets like the Russian Lancet. It will help to locate targets through electronic communication and destroy them. The drones are currently under testing. The drone technology can detect whether a target is a person, tank, or vehicle.
