With eyes on the poll, opposition calls creation of Odisha Parivar a ‘natakbazi’

After the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress party attacked the State government for setting up the Odisha Parivar Directorate on Monday, the political climate in the State got a little more heated.

In a savage attack on the BJD-led government, BJP legislator Subash Panigrahi called it ‘natakbazi (theatrics)’.

According to them (BJD), Mo-Parivar was their party’s concern. Having been approved by the cabinet, it now has the status of the Mo-Parivar Directorate. The motive behind their actions is to spend money. It is common practice for them to engage in such ‘natakbazi’ when an election is imminent,” said Panigrahi.

According to Adhiraj Panigrahi, Congress MLA, the government has hoodwinked the Odia people with its policies.

It does not contain anything new. The party matter has been turned into a government issue. However, the government pays little attention to migrant workers. Currently, the government does nothing to help these workers. Keeping the upcoming general election in mind, the government has done this. Panigrahi explained it as a trick to mislead Odisha residents.

In contrast, Culture Minister Ashwini Patra said he wanted to unite Odia diasporas by establishing the Odisha Parivar Directorate.

A dedicated office will deal with Odia expat problems. An office of this kind is urgently needed. We now have the opportunity to unite the Odias residing around the world as a result of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s action. Directorate of Odisha Parivar and Odisha-Mo Parivar differ totally,” Patra said.
